Dan Alba is the protagonist of the first Dark Dome game The Girl in the Window and the brother of Mia Alba, who is the game's titular character.
About him[]
Dan is a young-looking man who seems to have a calm nature yet can be frightened when something suddenly happens around him. Plus, after realizing he used to be murdered along with his sister, he wants their killer to get punishment, showing a vengeful side of his. However, although going to the cemetery, which was Lian's idea, was the beginning of experiencing unnatural things, leading to his and Mia's deaths, he does not blame his friend for inadvertently being the catalyst for the murder since he wrote a letter that it wasn't his fault.
According to Lian, Dan and Mia used to be very friendly and sociable. However, after visiting the cemetery with their friends, they felt paranoid due to constantly spotting a man near their house and unusual occurrences, such as shadows. Hence, they felt safe within their home, rarely going out and always being on guard.
Appearance[]
Dan has light skin and short black hair and wears a white shirt with a black jacket, blue jeans, and orange shoes. He usually has eye bags, but after the murder case is solved, he no longer has them.
In the games[]
The Girl in the Window[]
Dan is investigating a house abandoned 20 years ago after an unsolved murder case of two siblings happened, as he feels something is calling him from inside it. After he comes into the house, the door is locked, thus trapping him inside and forcing him to escape.
Later, he solves all the puzzles and finds the key to unlock the door in order to get out. Outside, he notices on the floor a piece of a newspaper having the subheading SIBLING KILLED next to a picture of him. Shocked at first, he realizes that the piece is together with the other half with the headline HORRIBLE CRIME and a picture of the girl, meaning he is one of the killed siblings. It also explains why the house "was so familiar to [him]" because it is his and his sister's home. In the end, he decides to stay with her in their house.
The Ghost Case[]
Dan makes a minor appearance as his soul, along with his sister's, is sending signals to the detective Ren Larson to solve their longtime closed murder case because they cannot rest in peace without having their killer punished.
He appears for a while in his house to move the tokens for Ren (after putting them) to be able to guess the code of the cabinet, which inside has projector slides and a letter for his friend Lian that says, "It wasn't your fault."
When the detective finally solves the case of the siblings and has the killer pay for his crimes, Dan and Mia are happily looking from the window of their home, as they can now rest in peace.
Trivia[]
